Florida offers grants for customized Export Marketing Plans to identify overseas growth strategies.
Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI), in partnership with the Florida SBDC Network and the U.S. Commercial Service, offers qualified Florida manufacturers and services providers the development of a customized Export Marketing Plan to identify overseas growth strategies for the company. Upon completion of the plan, new-to-export or infrequent exporters can apply for Gold Key/Matchmaker Grant, a Trade Show Grant, or participate in an EFI overseas trade mission. Click here to complete the online application from the Florida SBDC Network.
Please contact your local EFI trade representative for more information and to receive the grant application.
The Florida Small Business Development Center Network (FSBDCN) will further evaluate applicants through interviews and recommends:
a. Five or more full-time employees.
b. $500,000 to $10 million in annual sales.
EFI covers a portion of the cost of an Export Marketing Plan developed by the SBDC International Trade Specialist.
Applicants will then be contacted by an SBDC International Trade Specialist for further evaluation.
Grantee is not responsible for requesting reimbursement.
A company may receive a maximum of three trade grants each year between July 1 to June 30 (EFI’s fiscal year), subject to the limitations below:
a. Applicants must complete the online application provided by the Florida SBDC Network.
b. SBDC Trade Specialist will make a determination regarding the applicant’s qualifications in conjunction with Enterprise Florida.
c. If approved, qualified applicants will sign a Letter of Engagement; submit the $500 payment to the SBDC Trade Specialist, and provide additional data as needed in order to complete the Export Marketing Plan.
d. The completed Export Marketing Plan is submitted to the applicant and applicant signs “Acknowledgement” form.
