  • In 2022, total bilateral merchandise trade between Florida and the Netherlands was $1.8 billion, making it Florida’s 5th largest bilateral merchandise trade partner in the EU and 27th largest partner overall. In addition, trade increased by 13.6% in 2022.
  • Florida exports to the Netherlands totaled $719 million in 2022 making the Netherlands the state’s 25th largest export market. Leading export commodities include aircraft, fuel wood, electrical components, cars, and perfumes.
  • Florida imports from the Netherlands were $1,099 million in 2022, making the Netherlands Florida’s 27th largest source for imports. Leading import commodities include oil, beer, ethyl alcohol, yachts, and horses.

  • Netherlands is the 7th largest foreign direct investor in Florida, with Dutch-owned affiliates accounting for more than 17,000 jobs.
  • EU Ranking: The Netherlands is also the 3rd largest EU investor in Florida, following France but preceding Ireland and Italy.
  • Dutch affiliates in Florida were estimated to have total holdings of USD $4.0 billion in gross property, plant, and equipment in 2020.
  • According to SelectFlorida’s database of foreign-owned affiliates in Florida, there are more than 100 Dutch-owned companies operating over 150 branch locations in Florida.
