“Florida. The Perfect Climate for Business.” campaign touts Florida’s low taxes on April 15th
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 15, 2014) – Today, millions of Americans are filing their taxes and those living in high-tax states have one thing in common: they would pay a lot less if they lived in Florida. To promote Florida’s low tax climate, Enterprise Florida is targeting CEOs nationwide with a one-day “Take over Tax Day” digital campaign. Digital ads promoting Florida’s low-tax business and living climate will be seen on business news and business websites throughout the day.
Governor Scott said, “Since 2011, I have worked with the Florida Legislature to cut taxes 25 times, including jump-starting our manufacturing investment by eliminating the sales tax on manufacturing equipment and property tax cuts for Florida homeowners and businesses. These changes are part of my plan to create an opportunity economy in Florida. Already, more than 70 percent of Florida businesses are exempt from paying the business tax.”
At a time when taxes are on American minds, the single day campaign focuses attention on Florida’s extremely favorable tax climate, which is recognized among the best in the country.
“Florida has always been one of the best places in the world to live and visit, and the business climate that’s been created over the last three-plus years under Governor Scott is making it a top choice for companies as well,” said Secretary of Commerce and president & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Gray Swoope. “The state’s low corporate taxes and zero personal income tax add to the long list of reasons that more businesses are locating or expanding in Florida.”
Born out of a brainstorming session with other business and economic development marketing and communications professionals, the “Take over Tax Day” is just one element of the overall Perfect Business Climate campaign that promotes the state for business by highlighting Florida’s cost-competitive environment, favorable tax structure, no personal income tax, and superior quality of life make it easy to live, work and play in Florida.
