“Enterprise Florida’s international programs allow small companies like ours to participate in these major events where the cost of exhibiting is extremely high and otherwise prohibitive. Enterprise Florida put us in the right place at the right time to make some very valuable connections.” - Bill Thompson, VP of Sales & Marketing Avionica
Originally founded as a manufacturer of flight data recorders or “black boxes,” Avionica now manufactures flight data monitoring equipment as well as satellite communication devices used in ground-to-air contact. Located in Miami, Avionica was looking to increase their international sales and make contact with smaller, low-cost airlines throughout the world.
Enterprise Florida provided target sector trade grants to helps offset the costs for Avionica to attend and exhibit at several international aviation tradeshows including the International Paris Air Show, Dubai Air Show and Singapore Air Show. The company will also attend the London-based Farnborough International Air Show in July 2014.
Since attending the Dubai and Singapore air shows, Avionica has seen an increased presence in both the Middle Eastern and Asian markets. The company is currently in negotiations to sign a $15 million contract with a major Middle Eastern carrier and a $5 million contract with an Asian Pacific airline.
