Enterprise Florida Beijing, Shanghai sites provide China business tie to Fla.
ORLANDO, FL (April1, 2011) – Florida companies desiring a link to business opportunities in China have a vital resource in Enterprise Florida’s Beijing and Shanghai offices.
With a goal of helping to strengthen Florida-China trade, these offices advise companies on trade and investment and provide market research data pertaining to their regions. They also connect Florida business representatives to the U.S. Commercial Service in China, which sets up business appointments.
Florida’s overall trade (exports and imports) with China increased by 27.8 percent between 2009 and 2010, at a total of $7.4 billion last year. Of the nations ranking as Florida’s top merchandise trading partners in 2010, China was third. And among those from which the state received imports, China was first. Merchandise traded varies widely, with imports ranging from travel products to electronic parts, and exports, from civilian aircraft to still cameras and flash devices.
