Florida Enterprise Fund, New Marketing Campaign Will Make Florida a Global Business Leader
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 29, 2016) – Today, Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) held its quarterly Board of Directors meeting in Tallahassee. During the meeting, the Board voted unanimously to support Governor Scott’s proposals for Enterprise Florida, including the creation of the $250 million Florida Enterprise Fund. Additionally, Enterprise Florida’s new Marketing Plan, “Florida: The Future is Here”, was unveiled, which will promote Florida as the future for business and job creation.
Governor Scott said, “I applaud the Enterprise Florida Board’s unanimous vote in support of the $250 million dedicated Florida Enterprise Fund, which is crucial to further diversifying our economy and ensuring that Florida can outcompete other locations, such as Texas, for job creation projects. Businesses and jobs will not move to Florida without certainty from the state that this fund will be available, which is why I look forward to working with the Legislature to ensure its full creation. We want Florida to become FIRST for jobs and will continue to work each day in order to meet that goal.”
Bill Johnson, President & CEO of Enterprise Florida said, “I’d like to thank the Governor, our Board, local partners and staff for making our board meeting this week a success. At the meeting, our team unveiled a dynamic new marketing plan that will project our state to the top of the business world. I’m also proud that our board voted unanimously to support the $250 million Florida Enterprise Fund. It is an exciting time at Enterprise Florida, and we will keep working to become the global leader for business.”
Enterprise Florida’s new marketing plan, “Florida: The Future is Here”, was presented by Chief Marketing Officer Joe Hice and Board Member Eric Silagy, President of Florida Power & Light.
Eric Silagy said, “I’m very proud of the new marketing plan that was unveiled at today’s Board Meeting. The new campaign will promote Florida as the future for business, innovation and job creation by highlighting the boundless opportunities for growth in our state. I’d like to thank all of the professionals on Team Florida for their efforts as we continue to show why Florida is the number one destination for business.”
As part of the new “Florida: The Future is Here”, marketing plan, Enterprise Florida has launched the “Boundless” campaign. The overarching theme behind “Boundless” is that Florida is home to the resources and attitudes that businesses need to flourish. Through imagery of Florida’s key industries, the “Boundless” campaign brings just a few of the infinite opportunities to the forefront. Other campaign design elements reflect boundless optimism, potential, freedom and possibility.
During the meeting, the Governor also presented job creator awards to the following companies:
In September 2015, Governor Scott visited Bay State Cable Ties in Crestview to announce that they would be expanding their operations and creating 40 new jobs, as well as making a $16 million capital investment. BSCT is a full line manufacturer of specialty cable ties and currently has 120 Florida employees.
Robert Sires, Owner and CEO said, “It is a privilege and honor to have the support of Governor Scott here at Bay State Cable Ties. When I made the decision to locate to Florida in 2004, I had high hopes and expectations of Florida. Building and training a strong management team, employing great employees as well as gaining the trust and business of many of the nation’s largest users of cable ties has been nothing short of miraculous. What you see today is a direct result of a strong government and private business partnership made possible by Governor Scott, Enterprise Florida, the EDC of Okaloosa County, Career Source Okaloosa Walton, and local officials. Our company looks forward to experiencing continued success and growth in Florida.”
