TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) was joined by Rogan Donelly, CEO of Tervis, and Andrew Alfano, CEO of Retro Fitness, to discuss the success businesses are experiencing because of Florida’s decision to remain over the past year. Donelly and Alfano are featured in EFI’s new ‘Built for Opportunity’ Awareness Campaign which launched earlier this month.

“Rogan Donelly’s and Andrew Alfano’s stories are true testaments to the fact that Florida is open and welcome to those wanting to do business here,” said Secretary of Commerce Jamal Sowell, President and CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. “Because of the leadership of Governor DeSantis, businesses are set up for success from the start, and we look forward to continuing to share their stories.”

“We are thankful for all that Governor DeSantis has done for our business and our community,” said Rogan Donelly, CEO of Tervis. “Tervis is fortunate to be located in a state that allows us to come to work in order to ship our products, keep our employees employed and continue to delight our customers with our product.  We continue to see success as a Florida-based company.”

“Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and build businesses across many states and see firsthand how they support local businesses. So when I had the opportunity to move Retro Fitness’s headquarters to Florida, it was a no-brainer,” said Andrew Alfano, CEO of Retro Fitness. “Retro Fitness is the third-largest franchise in the high-value, low-price fitness space and every one of our clubs is individually owned and operated by a small business owner. Thanks to Governor DeSantis, Florida was one of the very first states to open during the pandemic and one of the very first to recognize exercise, health, and fitness as essential part of keeping people healthy and safe. I don’t think we’d be where we are today had we not left our headquarters in New Jersey. Florida is a pro-business state, and I’m very happy to be here.”

Enterprise Florida’s ‘Built for Opportunity’ Awareness Campaign showcases how businesses and communities are prospering because of Florida’s forward-thinking leadership, open economy, and business-friendly environment. These highlights include diverse industries such as tourism, agriculture, and transportation, as well as Florida’s manufacturing industry which accounts for more than $55 billion in output to the state’s economy.
