MIRAMAR, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott today announced that AeroTurbine, a manufacturer, repairer and warehouse of aircraft engines and engine parts, will create 75 jobs in Miramar.
Governor Scott said, “AeroTurbine’s creation of 75 new jobs is a great addition to the Broward community. With today’s news that Florida’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.2 percent and we have created 462,000 jobs in three years, it’s clear that it’s working in Florida. This is all great news, but we aren’t finished yet. We are committed to creating an opportunity economy in Florida that will support jobs for generations to come.”
AeroTubine’s new location in Miramar will serve as the company’s corporate headquarters as they continue to expand. Outside the south Florida location, AeroTurbine has offices throughout the world including Singapore and the United Kingdom, as well as two other United States locations in Texas and Arizona. The company chose to expand in Florida after considering Dallas, Texas.
Florida is home to one of the nation’s largest aviation and aerospace industries. There are more than 2,000 aerospace and aviation companies employing in excess of 87,000 workers across the state. Florida is known as the world’s gateway to space, the undisputed air traffic hub of the Western Hemisphere, a major hub for flight and MRO, and home to leading manufacturers of all types of aircraft and aircraft components.
