Manny Mencia recognized for working to increase business ties between Florida and Spain
MIAMI, Fla. (June 3, 2016) – King Felipe VI of Spain awarded the “Order of Isabella the Catholic” to Manny Mencia, senior vice president of trade and development at Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI). Mencia received the Order for his work in expanding business ties between Spain and Florida. He was presented with the award last night at the residence of the Spanish Consul General.
“Manny Mencía has been bestowed with a distinct honor by His Majesty King Felipe VI: the Cross of the Order of Isabel la Católica,” said Consul General of the Kingdom of Spain to Florida, the Honorable Candido Creis. “This is indeed a well-deserved recognition for his constant devotion to further enhancing the friendship between the Kingdom of Spain and the United States, and to increasing our commercial relations. Congratulations, dear Manny, for a job well done and for your deep generosity of spirit in moving forward!”
King Felipe VI serves as the Grand Master of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, which was created in 1815 with the intent of rewarding the Spanish citizens and foreigners who contribute to the enhancement of Spain’s relations with the nations of the Americas.
“I’m honored to receive the Order of Isabella,” said Mencia. “Florida shares a unique and historic relationship with Spain. It’s my privilege to preserve and improve international economic activity and Florida’s relationship with growing countries. As one of Florida’s top business partners, Spain’s market offers tremendous opportunities.”
