Contest highlights the state’s boundless potential of talent graduating from Florida schools
ORLANDO, Fla. (April 18, 2016) – The age-old tradition of college students decorating their graduation caps may be rewarded in a new photo contest announced by Enterprise Florida, Inc. Florida’s principal economic development organization launched “Snap Your Cap,” a social media contest for the state’s college graduates to creatively decorate their caps and upload a photo to Instagram or Twitter for prizes. Sponsored by Publix Super Markets, Inc., photos can be posted from April 18 to June 5 during Florida’s college graduation season.
The contest is open to graduating students from Florida colleges and universities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Cap designs should reflect the graduate’s degree and/or future career intentions. The premise is easy…snap a picture of the decorated cap and post to Twitter (@EnterpriseFL) or Instagram (@enterpriseflorida) with the hashtag #MyFLFuture. Winners, who will be announced June 17, are eligible for prizes including an Apple Watch® wearable device, $250 Publix gift cards and more. For more information, students can visit MyFLFuture.com. A user-friendly infographic is also available with detailed instructions.
“Florida’s workforce is innovative and creative, and this contest perfectly illustrates those key talents,” said Joe Hice, chief marketing officer and senior vice president at Enterprise Florida. “We have 9.7 million highly-skilled workers in the state, and thousands of young, brilliant minds are entering the workforce every year. Across any industry, Florida has the talent companies need to be successful.”
Snap Your Cap is part of Florida’s new business branding campaign: “Florida – The Future is Here.” The contest highlights Florida’s highly-skilled workforce and the brand’s “Boundless Potential” campaign element. The brand was launched in January 2016. A strong talent pipeline is one of the most important pillars for executives when considering starting, growing or relocating their businesses.
