TAMPA, Fla. (October 29, 2015) – Last week, Governor Rick Scott joined company and community leaders at the opening of the new 71,000-square-foot headquarters of Xcelience in Tampa. Xcelience is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
“This year marks a rapid expansion in our service offerings,” says Derek Hennecke, President and CEO of Xcelience. “In July we integrated with Powdersize because so many of our clients needed industry-leading micronization services. Now, with this new facility, we will be able to increase capacity throughout the organization. More capacity means we can be more flexible in dealing with changing client needs and timelines.”
The new facility houses preformulation and formulation development labs and suites, as well as analytical and stability services. Build out plans for an analytical lab are in development. The previous headquarters, also in Tampa, is transitioning to provide clinical trial and small-scale commercial manufacturing.
In March of this year, Governor Scott announced the expansion, which will ultimately create 100 jobs and a $9 million investment in the region. Governor Scott said, “We are proud to announce that Xcelience is adding 100 new jobs in Florida because we know that every new job helps a family in our state. We are glad that Xcelience has continued to invest and expand in Florida, and it is announcements like this that are helping our state become the global destination for jobs.”
